An aquarium, whether saltwater or freshwater, required each owner’s full attention, from monitoring pH level to water changes.
The tap water contains many properties such as minerals, which need to be conditioned by using biological agents or supplements that clear these properties.
It is essential to introduce your fish to their new home and prevent shock, if the tank levels differ, you will need to acclimate your fish a little longer.
To acclimate the fish to the water temperature in the aquarium according to the following process:
- Float the fish in their sealed bag for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Every 5 minutes, add at least a quarter cup of aquarium water into the sealed bag until full.
- Upon finish the above process, remove some of the water from the bag and lower it into the water to let the fish sim freely.
pH levels measure the balance of acidity and alkalinity in your aquarium’s water and the level depends on fish species and the type of aquarium.
- Freshwater fish typically do well in aquariums with pH levels between 6.6 and 6.8.
- Saltwater fish thrive well in pH levels between 7.6 and 8.4.
Avoid placing your tank in an area that receives a lot of sunlight or near cooling vents and the level also depends on the fish species.
- Freshwater fish need a constant water temperature between 72°F – 82°F (22°C – 28°C).
- Saltwater fish thrive between 75°F – 80°F (24°C – 27°C).
Changing 25 percent of your aquarium’s water every month keeps your tank clean and stabilizes nitrate concentrations.
Seeing a little green in your tank isn’t usually cause for alarm, but too much of it can be detrimental. Algae buildup gives your tank a murky, swampy look, and reduces the amount of oxygen in the water.
Overcrowding can lead to low oxygen levels, leading your fish vulnerable to disease, other than it causes excessive debris and wastes, which can reduce the quality of the water.
Many fish species can coexist with each other under certain environments, as long as they have adequate space, food, and other necessities, fish species usually leave each other alone. Avoid those fish species that tend to be territorial or aggressive when it comes to their homes.
Overfeeding your fish can cause a variety of problems, including increasing the amount of waste and debris, encourage algae growth, further depleting the water quality and oxygen. As such, it is good to maintain a consistent feeding schedule and provide an appropriate amount of food.
The Smart Fish Tank has been designed to meet the needs listed above, but not all of them. It strives to simplify the process of maintaining a fish tank. At the same time, it can bring enjoyment, tranquility, and function as a home office decoration that can liven up the setting.
The happy fish and fishes swimming across and chasing each other, play hide and seek in the fish tank from one end to the other end, with the water plants and colorful stones in their living environment.

Ants have a caste system, where responsibilities are divided. The queen is the founder of the colony, and her role is to lay eggs (egg laying machine).
Once mated, the queen never mates again. Instead of repetitive mating, she stores the male’s sperm in a specialized pouch until such time as she opens the pouch and allows sperm to fertilize the eggs she produces.
The nest’s queen controls the gender and function of her offspring since her fertilized eggs become either wingless female workers or reproductively capable virgin female ants (young queen). Unfertilized eggs develop into winged drones/male ants who do no work other than to fertilize a virgin princess/female ant.
One striking feature of social insects is the lifespan of queens (reproductive females), which can reach nearly 30 years in some ant species. This is over 100 times the average lifespan of solitary insects.
In the lifespan among castes, with queens living up to 500 times longer than males and 10 times longer than workers (non-reproductive females).
The female ants are developed from fertilized eggs and have two genome copies.
When it comes to mating, they fly and leave to start a new colony. Once they mate, they let go of their wings and become the new Queen.
These wasp-like ants born from unfertilized eggs are the only male ants in the colony.
The male ant function like flying sperm, only having one genome copy means every one of their sperm is genetically identical to themselves, and their job is over quickly, dying soon after mating,
They fly only during mating, and that's pretty much their purpose. They take off when the princesses do, for the Nuptial flight.
The most common in the colony. These are infertile female ants. They are the ones that do most of the work. Be it looking after the queen, taking care of the "babies", or collecting food.
Worker ants, meanwhile, have smaller bodies and mandibles more suited for grabbing and moving things. Their jobs are more varied, ranging from hunting and collecting food to tending to the young. As such, it makes sense that worker ants could have larger brains compared to their body size, with so many different tasks, they need the accompanying brainpower to accomplish them.
The mightier infertile female ants generally are assigned to protect the colony from larger animals. They also help in carrying heavier food, or clearing paths. Not all types of ants have a soldier. Only species with polymorphism have such strong ants.
Soldier ants are larger, stronger and have powerful mandibles that work like pincers to fight off predators threatening the colony. That is effectively their only job. However, it has almost the same brain size compared to the Worker ants, which means if compared to their body size, then, the soldier ants have much smaller brains.
The life cycle of an ant is called complete metamorphosis. It is the same kind of life cycle butterflies have.
Every species of ant has its nuptial flight around specific times in the year. During the nuptial flight the young winged queens and males fly into the air, the queens release pheromones that attract the males. Sometimes, the queens fly faster than males, only the ones that can catch up are considered to be better or stronger mates.
They mate while flying or upon landing (the princess/young queen will often mate with several males), and then finally drop to the ground a few hours later. The males die after mating; breeding with the princess/young queen during nuptial flight is their only purpose in the ant world.
Mated young queen break off their wings and begin searching for a new location to begin their own colonies.
Only a few species of ants will accept these now pregnant queens back to the nest, but generally most don’t, and the queens are off on their own in search of a suitable place to begin a nest, where each queen will eventually give birth to their first set of babies.
The new queen is now ready to lay eggs and start a new colony.
She needs to survive until worker ants are born and ready to find food. Until then, she feeds on protein off her wings (now useless) and off the fat stored in her.
Larvae grow and are fed and cared for by the workers, they are maggots that have no proper organs developed. The hair on them enables worker ants to carry more than one at a time. They can only wiggle, or open their mouths and begin consuming foraged food.
In 12-32 days, the larvae then become pupae, and the workers stop feeding them.
Once the larvae grow in size, they resemble more of an ant. Some even enclose themselves into cocoons, they are covered by a white or brownish cocoon, but their exoskeletons harden eventually. Pupae are not fed as they are in a cocoon.
When they are fully developed (9-30 days) adult ants emerge from the pupae.

Cats and dogs are homeotherms, meaning they maintain a fairly constant body temperature of 101.0 to 102.5°F (38.3 to 39.2°C), which is higher than the normal human body temperature 98.6°F (37°C). Their fur, which keeps them warm in winter, also protects them in the summer by preventing them from taking on too much heat.
Cats don’t like or dislike sweetness, in fact, they can’t taste “sweet” at all. Cats only have 470 taste buds, compare this to 1,700 in dogs and 9,000 in humans. Cats may try to eat candy canes due to the minty smell, which is similar to catnip, even if your cat isn’t after a sweet fix, sugar ingestion can still be bad for them.
Cat eyes are beautiful, they are far-sighted and also have a blind spot right in front of their faces, which is why your kitty keeps missing the treat you put right under his nose. Cats also have very good night vision and can hunt in complete darkness with the same accuracy they have during the day as long as the prey is within hunting range.
There are these whiskers that help cats “see” better, cats have whiskers on their upper lip, chin, above their eyes, on the back of their legs and on their backs, the vibrate from touching an object or from a change in airflow, that will send a signal to the nervous system that helps determine the size, shape and speed of what is around them.
Cats naturally walk on their tiptoes and quietly, their paws and claws contain scent glands act as a marker to claim their territory. It is also interesting to know that cat has a preferred paw – male cats tend to be left-pawed and female cats are typically right-pawed.
Cats can make more than 100 vocalizations, purr, hiss, general cry to growl to different variations of meowing. Each cat can develop a series of meows or sounds unique to their owner, similar to how dogs can learn different command words base on their trainer.
The Cats age almost similar to the smaller size dog, however, for large dog, the age in human years is different.

It is important to take them outside to go to the bathroom at regular intervals so that they can learn a routine.
2. Have a closed off puppy areaMake sure to keep them in an enclosed space to lessen the chance of accidents around the house.
3. Puppy proof your floorsUse carpet that are stain and odor resistant for easily clean up any messes and get rid of the smell, which will discourage your pup from having another accident in the same area.
4. Only use treats for trainingit's not a great idea to just give your dog treats because you think he or she is being cute, the "Treats” are only used as a reward when training and make it becomes fun.
5. Be consistent with commandsAll the people in the home need to use the same commands for the dog to learn a word’s proper meaning, e.g. down, sit.
6. Make it a gameRather than always relying on treats to keep your dog attention, you should make each training session fun for the dog so that it wants to participate.
7. Learn your dog's behaviourObserving the dog’s behavior and knowing its breed temperament help training works.
8. Only teach one trick at a timeLet your dog masters one exercise at a time before moving onto another.
9. Keep training sessions shortKeep the training short and frequent, may be two short sessions in a day, puppy may not have the longest attention.
10. End each training session on a high noteLet your dog feels confident after end of each session.

Domestic cats first appeared around 10,000 years ago, cats can read human facial expressions, such as the person is smiling or frowning, and they learn this ability over time.
Cat aims for maximum snuggles, the ear and tail movements are associated with contentedness. You will also notice cats often greet humans and other animals with slow blinks to communicate affection and trust.
You can try to communicate with them by slow-blinking, eye-narrowing facial expressions and in a relaxed smile, followed by closing your eyes for a couple of seconds. Please observe whether your cat response the same way before start a conversation with soft meowing tone.
A meowing cat wants something – attention or food or perhaps access to a room. You can do the same ways by using soft conversational tone to achieve training results, such as sit, roll over, shake a paw, jump, playing dead and few success stories with cat using the human toilet and some even know how to press the toilet flush valve – The steps can find on the YouTube.

Soil – This is the most natural ant farm substrate, ants will find additional nutrients from the modified soil mixture and the add in foliage even make it a great ant house.
Sand – For DIY tunnels, make sure wet the sand first in order to make the tunnels hold up better.
Gel – This is an artificial substrate made specifically for ants to develop a nest in, which is also nutrient-rich and edible to enhance ant survival rate.
The plants that don’t’ mind consistently in the damp soil, no need to relocate them.
The low maintenance plants with little or no roots, example air plants and succulents.
Note: Ants care very little about decoration, they will hollow out and uproot the plants to use it as a building material for the nest.
Chill the ants out before introducing them by first placing them in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Put them into the fridge to lower their body temperature before transferring them, which will calm them down and move a lot slower till warm up.
Help ants start tunneling by probing two inches deep holes before adding the colony.
Ants might find their new environment confusing and stressful, and looking for an immediate place of shelter, if you pre-probed the holes, it will be all that is needed for ants to find their place.
Ants required a well balanced diet of protein and carbohydrates in order to thrive.
Fruits and any type of sugar are good sources of carbohydrates, and the insects in dead or alive are a good source of protein. However, not to overfeed your ants, wasted uneaten food will bring unwanted mold and bacteria to the enclosure.
Keep your ants hydrated at all times, keep a source of water nearby or the soil moist. Tips: If the water hole is in the activity area, make sure place the ant farm inside a big plastic bag prior to opening cover, the runaway ants can catch later and gently put back to its house.
For ants healthy diet, keeping a small tray full of water at all times would be ideal or alternative, use a dropper to keep the top layer of substrate moist.
Remove any signs of decomposition. Dead ants and old food can cause mold.
Ants are very neat and tidy animals, always keeping the nest clean. They bring all of their dead as well as uneaten food out to the landscape area to prevent mold build-up.
Ants will live longer if the colony is kept in a cool place and away from direct sunlight.
By cooling them down and slowed their movement, this also will slow their metabolism and actual life span. Finding an area in your house that’s about 70 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to 24 degrees Celsius) will be perfect for the ant nest to thrive as a community. Keep it away from direct sunlight and don’t put it in an area too cold that might cause them to slip into hibernation.
Moving the formicarium could cause tunnels to collapse.
Once your ants start building tunnels, moving the ant farm could potentially cause tunnels to collapse.
Never mixes ant species in the same enclosure, they will fight to the death.
Most ants will not take well to foreign colonies. Ants will go to war with one another if you put two or more species together.
Keeping ants that are native to your area is safe and easier to take care.
If a particular ant species are invasive and break free, it could cause serious damage to the environment, causing other insects to go extinct.
Cover up the ant farm with a black sheet when you aren’t watching the ants.
Ants like being in the dark, they feel safe and thrive when having a comfortable nest.
Different materials use different cleaning methods, example for acrylic materials, use a clean, damp Microfiber cloth with mild dishwashing soap and avoiding any strong detergent, chemical cleaners, window cleaners or other disinfectants that contain ammonia.
Due to their small size, ants’ muscles has a greater cross-sectional area relative to their body size compared to larger animals, this means they can produce more force.
Ants breathe in oxygen through spiracles which are a series of holes located on the sides of their bodies. The spiracles are connected through a network of tubes which help distribute the oxygen to almost every cell in their body.
Ants use vibrations to hear, using them when foraging for food or as an alarm signal. Ants use the vibrations in the ground to hear by picking them up in the sub-genual organ which is located below the knee.
One of their stomachs is for holding food for their own consumption, and the second one is to hold food to be shared with other ants.
Some Amazonian ants have taken to reproduce via cloning, it is reported that the queen ants copy themselves to genetically produce daughters, resulting in a colony with no male ants.
They hold their breath underwater for long periods of time, but they will also build lifeboats to survive floods.
Some species of ant, such as the Polyergus Lucidus are known as slave-making ants. They invade neighboring ant colonies, capturing its inhabitants and forcing them to work for them. This process is known as ‘slave raiding’.
Slave-making ants are specialized to parasite a single species or a group of related species which are often close relatives to them. The captured ants will work as if they were in their own colony, while the slave-making workers will only concentrate on replenishing their labor force.
Ants Gathering Food.
Ants first arose during the Cretaceous period around 130 million years ago. They have survived the Cretaceous-Tertiary that killed the dinosaurs as well as the ice age.

The communication are two ways, since a human has no wagging tail, our man’s best friend must look elsewhere for signs as to how their master feels.
Sometime, the dog will feel the fear too by the extreme shocking look, here is the video that you seldom see.
The dog is just like humans, will show the annoying and reluctant look when they are unwilling, but have to obey to the master instruction. Watch the video.
Ears back while they lick your face, to show that they mean you no harm.
Flat ears are typically submissive, but it could also be in fear if they’re pinned back tightly.
Ears up or forward means that your dog is aware and alert, they may want to play or they might be looking for a few extra strokes.
Ears at a relaxed, neutral position means the dog is at ease, such as when they’re resting.
When your dog raises one eyebrow or both while making eye contact, it’s a sign of alertness and interest.
Dogs have acquired this understanding and use their gaze to win approval from and show love for their humans.
Dogs stare at each other until one or the other breaks the gaze—and a fight could break out.
With humans, dogs are perfectly comfortable breaking eye contact, and in no way is it a prelude to trouble. Rather, it indicates a comfortable rapport between a dog and his person.
If a dog blink while making eye contact with you, he may be contemplating what you’re thinking, especially when you have just given a command.
The same is true of squinting during eye contact, it is a sign of appeasement, with his human.
A dog that avoids eye contact with humans is doing his best to avoid any kind of interaction, whether negative or positive. Sometimes, we see this in the dogs that have recently been rescued from bad situations.
‘Whale eye’ is a term used to specifically describe when the whites of a dog’s eyes are clearly visible. The sclera can sometimes appear normally, but it’ll often be mixed with other signs of agitation or focus on certain target.
A ‘hard stare’ can be tough to deal with, especially if you are not confident around dogs in the first place. Also known as ‘hard eye’, the fixed stare is different to whale eye, but the meaning is the same. The dog isn’t happy with what they’re looking at.
Head tilting is a gesture used to convey curiosity or listening to you.
When your dog head bows or lowers his head while gazing up at you, it is an act of submission.
When your dog pulls his lips up vertically to display his front teeth while also wrinkling his muzzle, he’s angry—especially when he raises his ears up and stares steadily, there’s a good chance a growl is coming.
You will have to be careful if you spot a dog with a tightly closed mouth. It’s generally a warning sign for most animals, and they’re likely to feel tense at the very least.
When your dog draws his lips back horizontally so that you can see all his teeth, it indicates discomfort or fear and may accompanied by ear-flattening.
A yawn could indicate tiredness and it can also be associated with moments of stress.
A dog who is licking his lips can be communicating a desire to submit to his human, it could indicate anxiety, depending on the context.
Most owners will be able to recognise that typical ‘guilty look’ on the face of their dog after they’ve done something wrong.
Yes, dogs do smile, when a dog lifts up his lips to show his canine teeth and incisors, it’s a sign of excitement, dogs tend to smile while out on walks or romping with pals at the dog park.
A fast, full-circle wag that gets your dog’s entire backside involved is a clear sign he’s overjoyed to see you. But other tail wags can indicate hesitation, agitation, or even dog hostility. Depending on the circumstances, slow wags and stiff wags may indicate your dog is feeling anxious or he’s on the offensive.
A playful dog is happy and joyful. The ears are up, the eyes are bright, and the tail usually wags rapidly. The dog may jump and run around with glee. Often, a playful dog will exhibit the play bow: front legs stretched forward, head straight ahead, and rear end up in the air and possibly wiggling. This is most certainly an invitation to play.
If your dog drops his favourite toys at your feet, bounds around, and looks at you expectantly, he’s telling you he wants to play. But when he drops his toys near you and walks off for a rest in his bed, this action should warm your heart, as your dog is sharing his treasures with you—his favourite person.
When you’re sitting on the couch and your dog leans his body weight against your legs, he’s showing his affection, by pressing his weight against you reassures him as he rests or takes a nap and this is more common in large dog breeds.
If you have to check your dog’s bed or crate for missing dirty socks and T-shirts every laundry day, take it for the compliment it is. Your dog knows your smell and finds comfort in it when you’re out of sight. For a dog with separation anxiety, it may be helpful to consciously place a few items of unwashed clothes near him when you leave him home alone.
Here has a very touching real story, the Muslim Farmer and his dog of 12 years, after the farmer passed away, the dog Amin also passed away a few days later by snuggling the farmer's shirt.

Not all clothing is created equal in the “Fit” terms, example:
1. Slim Fit
A slim-fit clothing item is one that is fitted to your body with very little to no excess fabric. These pieces are always highly stretchy and form-hugging.
2. Regular Fit
These are items that fit closer to the body, but are not tight. Meant to be slightly loose around the body, but not at all baggy. Like a suit, tailored to the body's natural curves.
3. Relaxed Fit
Items that are significantly larger than a regular fit, usually offer an extra 2" to 4” than standard chest/bust size. These clothes are loose-fitting and often slouches.
4. Oversized Fit
For items that are meant to appear too large, but still put together and flattering. Super slouchy, voluminous, and less structured. An item designed with an oversized fit is still true to size because it is meant to be oversized. This allows flexibility to size down 1 or 2 sizes for a more fitted look and is available to more people.
Size measurements refer to the measurements of the person that each size will fit.

Japanese Researchers Experiment In June 2019
For the experiment Ichinose set nine mannequin torsos out in the Japanese summer sun, each clad in a different colored polo shirt, then after five minutes of exposure checked the fabrics’ surface temperatures.
As expected, the white shirt was the coolest, with a temperature of approximately 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit), more or less the same as the air temperature during the test, followed by YELLOW. The next coolest shirts, in order, were GREY and RED, the latter a surprise since RED is generally thought of as a “hot” color in terms of psychological effect.
PURPLE ended up right in the middle of the pack, with the next, BLUE, again being somewhat unexpected, since in visual design it’s considered a “cool” color. Next came GREEN, then DARK GREEN, and, finally, BLACK, with the last two both having surface temperatures of over 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit), more than 50 percent hotter than the WHITE shirt.
This essentially meant that the WHITE shirt and the BLACK shirt had around 20 degrees Celsius difference in surface temperature!
The difference is actually due to what wavelengths of light the colours reflect and absorb, along with the heat energy associated with those wavelengths. WHITE reflects all wavelengths of light and its heat, while BLACK absorbs all wavelengths of light and its heat.
The next time you are sick of wearing WHITE on a hot day, you can consider wearing YELLOW, LIGHT GREY or RED, which have a relatively higher reflectance.

The octopus is one of the many unique creatures in the ocean. It is commonly known for having eight arms, more commonly known as tentacles, and squirting ink to escape its prey.
There are more than 200 species of octopus and are considered the most ‘“intelligent” of invertebrates and are able to interpret sensory input from the eyes and other sensory organs, they are boneless but not brainless. They have 9 brains, in addition to the central brain, each of 8 arms has a mini-brain that allows it to act independently.
The qooollooop pet octopus simply loves the Squid Game. This is awesome!

If you are not very active, owning a dog could give you a very good reason to walk regularly. However, before adopting a pup, you need to consider the breed that is appropriate for your lifestyle. For example, consider adopting a medium size less active dog, if you live in a small apartment.
(i) Aim for 30-minute walks, five times per week.
(ii) Keep your dog on its leash in public areas, unless it is an “off leash” zone.
(iii) Supervise your dog around young children.
(iv) Make sure your dog is properly identified.
(v) Take a plastic bag or scoop to clean up your dog’s poop.
(vi) Avoid walking in extreme heat, take fresh water for you and your dog to drink.
1) Bonding experience
This is the time to explore, adventure, experience a new environment or see something new which is fun for you and your furry friend.
2) Emotional connection
By taking the time to experience the outside world with your pup, it can create an emotional connection, and build trust within your relationship through playtime.
3) Fresh air and exercise
Exercise and fresh air have a physical health benefit, starting with the short walks and keeping track of how you and your pup feel after each walk, and taking the opportunity to get moving to new places or push yourself and your best friend for longer walk times and places to explore.
4) Training opportunity
Your dog walk could be used as a training opportunity, you could use this time to focus on hand signals and commands with dog toys.
5) Track and measure success
You can start with small goals, track and measure your success with your daily walks, since you have a workout partner that will always be with you every step of the way.
